Schools cannot always wait for the summer holidays, and a six-week window is short for a large roof in any case. The majority of our school projects are carried out during term time, and we have delivered them while maintaining the normal safe operations of the school for staff and children, because that is the standard the education sector rightly demands.
Term-time delivery is a planning discipline. Access routes, deliveries, hoisting, noisy works and safeguarding are agreed with the school leadership before work starts, and the site is separated from pupils throughout. At St. Anne's Primary School in Sale, at Christ Church Primary School in Chadderton and at Brine Leas Academy in Nantwich, we completed term-time roof replacements without disrupting the school day.

Every operative carries a CSCS card and is CRB checked, and many hold additional security clearance for police, HMP and other special clients, so vetting is already part of how our workforce operates. Our accreditations include CHAS, Safe Contractor, Construction Line, NFRC and the Federation of Master Builders, which supports the due diligence that schools, academy trusts and local authorities must complete before appointing a contractor.
More than the membrane
School roof projects usually renew the whole roofline while the scaffold is up. Across our school case studies we have replaced fragile rooflights, installed new UPVC windows, fascias and guttering, upgraded insulation to current building regulations, and at Alice Ingham Primary School delivered a full external envelope upgrade including cladding, roller shutters, CCTV and interior ceilings and lighting.

Do you only work on flat roofs for schools?+
Flat roofing is our specialism and covers most school roof stock of the relevant era, but we also maintain and replace slate and tiled roofs and replace rooflights, windows, fascias and guttering, so the whole roofline can be dealt with in one project.
